Your New Role:

We have a fantastic 6-month opportunity for an experienced Ranger to join our multi-award-winning organisation and work in our Development and Compliance team.

Reporting to the Team Leader Rangers, you will undertake animal control, impounding, parking and other activities in order to provide an efficient and effective regulatory and enforcement service that meets statutory obligations within the budgetary framework established by Council.

You will also implement and enforce the provision of applicable Acts, Regulations, local laws and Council policies.

Key accountabilities include 

  • Investigate and enforce regulatory aspects of various Acts and Council policies.
  • Undertake animal control and impounding activities.
  • Issue Penalty Infringement Notices.
  • Conduct patrols, investigations and interviews relating to regulatory services operations.
  • Provide education and information to the community on a range of Council matters

About You:

To be successful in this role, you should possess Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation and/or equivalent relevant industry experience; demonstrated experience in regulatory services and handling domestic animals and livestock; superior communication skills, both verbal and written with customers in a potentially conflict situation; and the ability to record accurate notes, prepare routine correspondence and tend evidence in a court of law.

Please note it is a requirement of this role to participate in a rotating roster for on-call and weekend work.
