What do Rangers do?
Our Rangers provide peace of mind to residents and are on duty seven days a week, inclusive of public holidays to:
- Enforce legislation and local laws applicable to the control of animals, parking, litter, abandoned and off-road vehicles, and fire hazard prevention
- Conduct thorough investigations into breaches of legislation and local laws
- Manage the City’s Impound Facility
- Proactively identify and action issues that may impact the safety of the community
- Provide excellent customer service to City’s residents in relation to requests and investigations
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience as a Ranger or Community Safety Officer will be highly regarded
- Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 & 2 (formerly Ranger Municipal Law A & B)
- Valid Provide First Aid Certificate
- Valid Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
- Valid Class C Driver's licence
- Current satisfactory National Police Certificate (within 6 months validity)
- Experience and confidence in animal handling
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and ability to de-escalate situations and resolve conflict
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation
- Flexibility to work on a rotating roster over a 7 day period

- $83,865 - $93,875.47 per annum + super + penalty rates when rostered on public holidays and limited over time
