What do Rangers do?

Our Rangers provide peace of mind to residents and are on duty seven days a week, inclusive of public holidays to:

• Enforce legislation and local laws applicable to the control of animals, parking, litter, abandoned and off-road vehicles, and fire hazard prevention
• Conduct thorough investigations into breaches of legislation and local laws
• Manage the City’s Impound Facility
• Proactively identify and action issues that may impact the safety of the community
• Provide excellent customer service to City’s residents in relation to requests and investigations

Who we’re looking for:

• Experience as a Ranger or Community Safety Officer will be highly regarded
• Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 & 2 (formerly Ranger Municipal Law A & B)
• Valid Provide First Aid Certificate
• Valid Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
• Valid Class C Driver's licence
• Current satisfactory National Police Certificate (within 6 months validity)
• Experience and confidence in animal handling
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and ability to de-escalate situations and resolve conflict
• Ability to interpret and apply legislation
• Flexibility to work on a rotating roster over a 7 day period

• $83,865 - $93,875.47 per annum + super + penalty rates when rostered on public holidays and limited over time
