ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

We are offering a great opportunity for an efficient and suitably skilled individual to join our Financial Services team. 

Reporting to the Coordinator Rating, the position of Rating Administration Officer is an integral member of a professional rating team responsible for the levy and collection of Council rates and charges in a timely and efficient manner. Key tasks of the position include processing pension concession applications and direct debit payments, checking section 603 certificates and debt recovery.

To be successful you will bring

  • Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council’s values of:  creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.
  • Completion of Certificate in Business, Finance, Administration or equivalent, and/or demonstrated experience in Local Government rating.
  • Demonstrated well developed communication skills both oral and written.
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service and deal with sensitive issues using diplomacy, assertiveness and compassion.
  • Willingness to undergo a criminal history check.

The rewards

  • An annual salary range of $63,900 to $73,300 (plus 11.5% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
  • 19 day month working arrangement. Council is currently trialling a range of flexible working options. Subject to operational requirements, this position will have access to a nine day fortnight, with a thirty minute lunch break.
