How you’ll make a difference

Victoria Daly Regional Council is looking for a full-time Regional Council Operations Manager based in Katherine, NT. 

As part of the Operations Team the Regional Council Operations Manager will work in conjunction with the Director of Operations to develop and implement specific Operational plans

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement specific operational plans ensuring policies and strategic objectives are well understood and executed.
  • Monitor and review Operations; KPI's to ensure strategic objectives are met within communities.
  • Set performance indicators for direct reports and measure against performance   
  • Be a role model for effective and positive leadership which is ethical, results driven and future orientated. 
  • Share collective responsibility for delivering organisational objectives through active engagement and collaboration with employees at all levels in the organisation
  • Provide ongoing feedback, mentoring, advice and coaching to Council Operations Managers supporting skill development, continuous improvement and increased competencies
  • Be able to travel, assist and relieve in Community positions as required, creating a climate in which people are driven to do their best.

As the Victoria Daly region has a large Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, you will need to ensure cultural sensitivity and awareness across all activities.

Additionally, you will join with the following skills and background:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and develop staff from a range of skill levels and diverse cultural background 
  • Proven high level skills in oral and written communication
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and direction
  • Experience in remote Indigenous Communities( desirable)
  • Sound knowledge of the principles of Work, Health and Safety
