About the opportunity
This is an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for a suitably experienced and qualified professional to work within Council’s Workers Compensation team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing workers compensation claims in accordance with SIRA requirements including the self-insurance licence requirements, legislative framework and claims management guidelines.
You will be required to have good communication skills to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all key stakeholders.
The successful applicant will:
- Plan, organise and coordinate rehabilitation related activities as required to rehabilitate Councils injured/ill employees after a work-related injury/illness
- Provide effective communication networks for early injury management and administration of occupation rehabilitation programs.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field
- Solid experience in workers’ compensation claims management
- Experience in developing rehabilitation programs to support return-to-work initiatives
- Demonstrable organisational skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality and professionalism
- Current class C drivers licence
- Demonstrable advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work productively and collaboratively within a fast paced environment.
Desirable:
- Experience using corporate databases (e.g. TRIM, TechnologyOne, SCOUT).
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,566.49 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
