The Opportunity

The role is responsible for contributing to the Integrated Risk Management team by effectively managing Wingecarribee Shire Councils Injury Claims and influencing return to work outcomes. The core focus and areas of responsibility for this role will be actively managing Council’s Workers Compensation portfolio including development of injury prevention strategies to eliminate or minimize Lost Time Injury numbers and frequency.

Essential Criteria

  1. Return to Work Accreditation. Demonstrated significant experience in return-to-work coordination, occupational therapy, rehabilitation or return to work.
  2. Demonstrated experience in conducting workplace investigations, develop concise reporting of findings and implement strategies to reduce reoccurrence.
  3. Demonstrated ability to use initiative and act independently to ensure excellence in customer service, best practice and the achievement of outcomes.
  4. Ability to interpret and apply workers compensation legislative standards and guidelines as they apply to organisational claims management and rehabilitation initiatives
  5. Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead, persuade, negotiate, consult with, and provide advice on workers compensation claims management and rehabilitation issues.
  6. Ability to effectively lead the coordination of workers compensation claims management processes and early intervention strategies including the development of return-to-work programs.
  7. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills to meet defined deadlines.
  8. Ability to work within a team and autonomously where needed to achieve required outcomes within specified deadlines/time frames.
  9. Current Drivers Licence (Class C)
