Description

Are you passionate about delivering quality service and ensuring the efficient collection of vital Council revenue? We are currently looking for dedicated and proactive individuals to join our Revenue Services team. These roles are essential in processing and recovering Council revenue, including rates, water billing, and sundry debtors.

About the role:

  • Provide Quality Advice & Customer Service, ensuring accurate processing, recovery, and reconciliation of council’s revenue. Assist ratepayers and other debtors by offering expert advice and support on complex matters.
  • Handle a variety of tasks, including assessing, calculating, issuing notices, collecting debts, maintaining data, and performing property inspections.
  • Ensure Compliance by working in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), Valuation of Land Act, and other relevant regulations to maintain accurate and compliant processes.
  • Be the first point of contact for ratepayers and internal customers, delivering exceptional service and responding to inquiries through phone, written communication, face-to-face interactions, and inspections.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Tertiary level qualifications (certificate/diploma/degree) in business, finance or accounting or demonstrated knowledge and experience in a large multifaceted environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to handle complex and emotional matters professionally
  • High level competence with Microsoft 365 applications and ability to learn corporate applications
  • Attention to detail, with a proactive approach to resolving issues
  • Sound understanding of legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to local government (desirable).

Where it's located:

This position is based in Tweed Heads, and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
