Description

We are seeking a Risk and Claims Officer to manage Council’s risk framework, corporate risk register, internal audits, and insurance claims.  This role requires discretion, strong communication skills, and experience in risk management, ideally within local government.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Team Leader Governance Services, this role oversees Council’s enterprise risk management framework, corporate risk register, and internal audit function.  You will also facilitate the Audit, Risk & Improvement Committee and manage insurance claims (excluding workers compensation and motor vehicles) to minimise risk exposure.

The ideal candidate will have qualifications and/or equivalent experience in risk management, governance, or a related field, with experience in a similar role, preferably within a local government environment.

To succeed in the role, you will have intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, excellent verbal and written communication, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Annual salary of $81,855 to $93,323 (plus super)

Please note:  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.  For a continuing position, you must be an Australian New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.

Australian Temporary Residents may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
