The Strategic Placemaking Business Unit, within the Assets and Infrastructure Directorate is currently seeking a formally qualified Road Asset Engineer reporting to the Senior Road Assets Specialist to work alongside the Strategic Placemaking specialists. 

About the Opportunity

Georges River Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Road Asset Engineer to join our dynamic and busy Strategic Placemaking team.

The successful candidate will report to the Senior Road Asset Specialist, this position will be responsible for assisting in the establishment of strategy, asset planning, maintenance planning and engineering functional support specific to Council’s Road assets.

This position will deliver place based, innovative and strategically aligned outcomes to ensure the City’s assets are managed and maintained in a financially sustainable manner that aligns with Council’s Community Strategic Plan, Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP), Resourcing Strategy and other relevant Council adopted policies and strategies.

 

  • Permanent, Full-Time
  • Salary from $87,770.80 - $101,695.64 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation
  • Civil Liability Allowance 3.5% (pending qualifications required)

Who you are:

 

Qualifications, Certificates & Licence

  • Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, project management, asset management or minimum 3 years demonstrated relevant experience in a related field.
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Construction Induction (White Card).

 

Essential

  • Experience in roads assets management.
  • Experience with road construction and re-sheeting
  • Ability to present accurate, clear, concise, and timely reports.
  • Current knowledge of engineering practice, particularly in a Local Government context.
  • Ability to introduce and implement new engineering concepts and procedures.
  • Ability to approach problems in a creative manner.
  • Sound organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Good understanding of GIS (mapping) software and CAD software.
  • Sound computer skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide sound technical advice on roads assets management issues.
