About the role

Join our dynamic team as a Sector Development Coordinator, where your passion for economic development will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the Coffs Harbour economy. In this exciting position, you will lead innovative initiatives across key sectors, focusing on stimulating investment and creating job opportunities for our vibrant community.

Your expertise will be pivotal in developing strategic economic plans, attracting new businesses, and supporting existing ones to thrive. As a domain expert, you will foster connections with local business groups, industry associations and government departments, utilising your high-level communication and interpersonal skills to engage industry stakeholders.

You will take pride in facilitating impactful events, workshops, seminars, and networking opportunities to drive local collaboration and growth. You will be proficient in simultaneously managing multiple projects and possess the necessary skills to undertake general administration and website development tasks.

Understanding the needs of small businesses, you will provide essential tools and pathways for success while promoting the City's business support services and advocating for local enterprises. Your insights into the business support ecosystem will strengthen stakeholder engagement and ensure effective connections between clients and necessary services.

You will coordinate marketing campaigns targeting businesses and potential investors, oversee sector-related grant applications, and assist in preparing strategic documents that align with the City's economic development goals. Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with various internal teams to drive sector-related initiatives and organise forums that connect industry players.

About you?

  • Tertiary qualifications in economic development, tourism marketing, business or other relevant areas
  • Significant relevant experience in economic development and strategic planning
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of initiatives for economic growth
  • Previous experience in the successful preparation of grant and funding applications

  • Starting salary from $89,207.39 + 11.5% superannuation
