Council is seeking applications from enthusiastic motivated individuals for the following position.

SENIOR BUILDING SURVEYOR   (Permanent)

The Senior Building Surveyor will assist the Building Certification Coordinator with the delivery of building certification services and provide professional advice to Council, the public, developers, government authorities and other staff within the organisation in relation to development and building certification matters.

Qualifications: The successful applicant will need to hold tertiary qualification in Building Surveying or related field and possess registration as a Building Surveyor – Restricted (all classes of building) under the Building and Development Certifiers Regulation 2020.  Hold a white card/ General construction induction training card. Please include copies of all relevant licenses and qualifications with your application.

Skills & Knowledge: The successful applicant will require experience as a practicing Building Surveyor in Local Government or the private sector.  Ability to interpret relevant legislation including the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018, Local Government Act 1993, Swimming Pools Act 1992 and the Building Code of Australia.

Salary and conditions: Annual Salary Range $97,749.47 to $107,525.60 (Grade 17). Plus Superannuation.
