About the Role

The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for a range of activities that contribute to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan.

Delivery outcomes include, but are not limited to:

  • Civil engineering technical input into projects and development activities

  • Maintenance and upgrade of infrastructure assets, including roads, pathways, stormwater, public lighting, drainage and buildings
  • Contractor management
  • Project Management
  • Program development and implementation
  • Customer service

About you:

To be considered for this role, you should have

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience in civil infrastructure maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to apply judgement and problem-solving skills to gather and analyse complex information, including identification of improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions and communicate outcomes effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders while delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in interpretation and application of technical drawings, Australian Standards and guidelines relating to civil infrastructure works.
  • Demonstrated skills in the direction and supervision of contractors.
  • Experience in the functions of local government and its governance requirements (desirable).
