Senior Development Assessment Officer
- Salary $106,323.88 to $123,335.16 p/a + super
- Work from Home (WFH) options / Flexible Working Arrangements
- Position includes a leaseback vehicle
About Ku-ring-gai Council
Located 16 km’s north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales’ most attractive natural environments.
About the role
Reporting to the Team Leader Development Assessment, this role will see you assess development applications, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards and Council policies.
Duties will include, but are not limited to
- Assessment of development applications
- Assessment of highly complex and/or high profile projects and applications
- Management of applications where Council is the applicant or may have a conflict of interest
- Preparation of assessment reports
- Representing Council in court, at panel meetings and on site meetings
- Providing professional advice to developers and the community
Qualifications, Skills & experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of development assessment processes
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
