The Opportunity
As a Senior Electrical Engineer in the City of Perth, you will provide expert electrical engineering advice across multiple services including design, project delivery and maintenance. This position coordinates the delivery of the City’s electrical projects and manages the engagement of electrical consultants for specialist delivery of services.
Reporting to the Principle Electrical Engineer within our Infrastructure and Assets team, your responsibilities would primarily include:
- Lead and develop electrical designs and specifications for the City’s lighting and electrical projects;
- Conduct periodic reviews of the City’s design and construction notes and ensure that the City’s lighting and electrical design standard complies with Australian Standards, updating where required, including developing procedures for the implementation of new policies for electrical and lighting design and implementation;
- Develop project briefs including scope, budgets and programs (MS Project), liaising with other departments and stakeholders as required; and
- Prepare tender documentation for lighting projects and undertake procurement processes in line with procedure maximising efficiency and financial performance of the project.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering;
- Contemporary knowledge of electrical and lighting concepts and principles to achieve creative lighting (including technical lighting equipment) design and implementation;
- Knowledge of applicable regulations, standards and practices for the management of electrical equipment and electrical/lighting installation and maintenance; and
- Strong communication skills to provide effective stakeholder management with the ability to write technical documents.
