Description

The position is responsible for the effective management of the Water & Wastewater - Operations Unit’s Mechanical and Electrical section and related activities and resources.  You will be responsible for the management of approximately 40 staff including the section’s direction, performance management and development.  Annual expenditure related to Capital, Operations and Maintenance activities is in excess of $10M, with responsibility for the management of over $125 million in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic assets across water supply, wastewater conveyancing and treatment systems. 

About the role:

  • reports to the Manager Water & Wastewater - Operations and is responsible for the section's direction, performance management and development of staff
  • maintains assets through effective risk-based maintenance strategies and breakdown and repair responses
  • ensures the section has customer focus and supports the broader needs of the unit
  • provides specialist engineering advice

We are seeking:

  • a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of post-graduate experience in relevant workforce
  • effective coordination and performance management and development of a large technically trained workforce
  • experience across different disciplines to co-ordinate a technical workforce containing Electricians, Mechanical Fitters and Electronic Technicians as well as other operational staff
  • capability to provide specialist engineering advice on Mechanical, Electrical and SCADA / Telemetry matters

Where it's located:

This position is based in Chinderah, NSW and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
