About The Role

The Senior Governance Advisor plays a crucial role in enhancing and managing the Council's Governance Framework. Working closely with the Governance Manager and team, this position is responsible for applying best practice governance principles to promote effective, ethical, and efficient operations.

This role includes leading governance projects aimed at improving systems, processes, and procedures while collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance their decision-making capabilities. The ultimate goal is to support the Council in achieving its strategic objectives and fostering trust within the community, employees, and stakeholders.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in governance advisory roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of best practices and emerging trends.

  • Tertiary qualifications in governance, business administration, or local government.
  • Extensive experience in governance advisory or business partner roles.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement governance frameworks in public sector settings.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate emotional intelligence and the capacity to build strategic relationships at all levels, contributing to a collaborative work environment.

  • Package: $96,668 - $108,266 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • Hours of work: Permanent Full-Time 35 hours per week with option of 19-day month with flex-time arrangement.
