Senior ICT Support Officer

About the Position:

The City is seeking a self-motivated Information and Communication Technology individual to respond to requests for ICT assistance relating to hardware, software and telecommunications.

This position is offered as a full-time permanent position and will be responsible for managing, maintaining and developing the City’s systems and infrastructure for on premise and cloud environments, leading small and medium projects and is accountable for managing the lifecycle of all systems and infrastructure related incidents.

Key accountabilities:

  • Develop, support, and maintain systems and infrastructure, and provide improvement recommendations as part of regular operations.
  • Responsible for managing the lifecycle of all systems related incidents in order to prevent problems and incidents, resulting in the elimination and minimisation of recurring incidents and the subsequent impact of incidents that cannot be prevented.
  • Responsible for maintaining, testing, and validating the ICT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Practice and promote good cybersecurity hygiene and maintain the City’s cybersecurity posture.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date knowledge of current industry standards of information technology techniques and tools.

Position Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess a degree in Information Technology and previous experience, or lesser qualification with a strong technical background in IT systems. The position requires a solid understanding of server/cloud/network administration, security principles, and technical implementation of ICT projects. Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are highly regarded, and strong record keeping/documentation abilities are a must.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary starting from $89,955 per annum or $45.5237 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
