About the role

Woollahra Libraries’ success starts with its stellar team and we are looking for an experienced Senior Library Customer Service Officer to join us on a permanent full-time basis.

As the Senior Library Customer Service Officer, you will contribute to the smooth running of day to-day operations at our state-of-the-art libraries located in Double Bay, Paddington and Watsons Bay.

Working as part of our collaborative team, your energy, positivity and experience will enable us to provide exceptional library services to the community.

About you

We are looking for a passionate library professional, who is focussed on customer service and has exceptional communication skills to thrive in our busy service. You will be a high achiever with:

  • A Library Technician Diploma from TAFE or a relevant University degree.
  • Proven ability in the supervision and training of staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in Library operations, particularly in a Public Library.
  • An enthusiastic and engaging approach to providing excellent customer service.
  • Well-developed knowledge and skills in Library technology with the ability to assist staff and customers in the use of such technology.
  • Competency in all MS Office applications.
  • Proven experience in organising, implementing and delivering library programs and activities.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, including via social media.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both as a team member and independently, with proven time management and organisational skills.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Demonstrated understanding of WHS and EEO principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake the physical requirements of the position as outlined in Section D of the position description.

Desirable Criteria

  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role
  • Current C class Driver’s Licence.
  • Current First Aid certificate.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
