Location: Tamworth, NSW

 COULD THIS BE YOU?

To be successful in this role you will have tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related field, with proven experience in the management of Transport Operations and infrastructure assets including roads, footpaths, kerb and gutter, and structural assets. The ability to project plan and deliver works on time and within budget. Highly developed problem solving skills, oral and written communication skills and experience in developing and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The Senior Operations Engineer is responsible for:

  • management and direction of Southern Operations field staff, through Works Supervisor
  • Division wide management and coordination of drainage maintenance and renewal program
  • Division wide management and coordination of Council’s gravel renewal program
  • financial control of various activities and projects undertaken by the Division
  • contract preparation and management
  • strategic and operational planning, budget review and preparation, estimating and programming of capital works
  • leading and developing subordinate Technical staff

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications acceptable for membership to the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
  • OH&S Construction Induction Card
  • Driver Licence
  • Previous experience in a similar role with 7 to 10 years practical experience

Salary range: Grade 22 - $143,812.93 - $155,617.48 per annum including superannuation, plus civil liability allowance and leaseback vehicle for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
