We're seeking a strategic and innovative Senior People and Culture Business Partner to lead our newly established business partnership team. This role offers the chance to create and implement impactful people initiatives and programs, enhancing our Culture, the employee experience and driving workforce capability – far beyond traditional IR. 

About the role: 

As a key member of the People & Culture leadership team, you will lead, develop, and collaborate with business partners to deliver impactful, modern people solutions. You'll drive cultural and operational transformation through initiatives like the Cultural Transformation Roadmap and Workforce Planning Framework. Your expertise will guide leaders on performance management, culture, and employee engagement, cultivating a high-performance environment. Building strong relationships with leaders will be crucial to effectively managing people matters and achieving strategic objectives.

We are seeking:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Business Management, Law or other related discipline along with demonstrated experience working in a similar role OR demonstrated solid contemporary knowledge and experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience in strategically aligning people initiatives and programs with the business needs
  • Proven experience in managing complex grievances and performance management related matters
  • Excellent communication skills, including report writing, negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution.

Where it's located:

This position is based in Tweed Heads, and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
