In this role, you will provide specialist advice on planning matters to all departments and, in some cases, the general public within the City of Rockingham. Your duties include assessing a range of complex urban planning applications and preparing reports for Council meetings and the Planning and Asset Services Committee and Development Assessment Panel. You will also provide advice to other staff members as required, particularly in regards to complex statutory planning matters.

You possess a strong understanding of statutory planning and knowledge of the planning framework within local government. Your extensive practical experience within the urban planning industry compliments your knowledge of planning legislation and policies. A current ’C’ class driver’s licence is a requirement for this role.

 

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

  1. Comprehensive knowledge of urban planning administrative and statutory procedures and policies, particularly the Residential Design Codes
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of planning legislation, Acts and statutes
  3. Extensive practical experience in the profession of urban planning
  4. Degree in Urban Planning or equivalent in a related field
  5. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills

 

We are offering a gross salary of $103,919 to 110,654 per annum and:

  • 11.5% superannuation with the opportunity to co-contribute up to 5%
  • A variety of health and wellbeing programmes including a physical health reimbursement subsidy payment of up to $150 per annum, free flu vaccinations, free skin cancer checks, mental health programs and Employee Assistance Provider (EAP) services
