About the role
This position is a permanent full-time role in the Major Projects team, based at the Moruya Depot. The successful candidate will take the lead professional role managing infrastructure delivery projects and contracts, including taking responsibility for achieving agreed safety, quality, environmental, customer, stakeholder and budget outcomes. Your main duties will include:
- Providing leadership in the management and development of staff within the project team.
- Preparing, submitting and managing budgets and assisting the Division Manager in other areas of the works budget as required, including effectively management grant funding of projects.
- Developing, reviewing and updating standard project management documentation for use on own projects and where appropriate, for use more broadly across Council by providing a ‘centre of excellence’.
- Showing leadership in, and ensuring the enforcement of Environmental legislative requirements and Council’s environmental management systems and quality management objectives, associated policies and procedures.
About you
You will be a qualified and experienced Civil Engineer, ideally with significant project management experience. You will need to be a skilled communicator and an expert in the preparation and management of contracts. Your demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal work teams and inspire team spirit will allow you to succeed in this role. Your application will further demonstrate the following:
- Experience in road, bridge and building construction.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including preparation of complex reports and ability to liaise with the public and other government agencies.
- Ability to work unsupervised across a broad spectrum of engineering related responsibilities.
- Sound supervisory skills and experience including the ability to lead and work harmoniously in a team environment.
- Sound computing skills including Excel, Access, Word and GIS applications.
Salary Information
Total remuneration for the role is in the range $126,540.79 to $139,007.44 gross per annum consisting of:
- $109,651.69 to $120,454.44 base salary
- $3,837.81 to $4,215.91 Civil Liability Allowance
- $13,051.29 to $14,337.09 superannuation (at 11.5%)
A fully maintained Council leaseback vehicle (including full private usage) is available with this position.
Appointment to this position is subject to the following:
- A satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History Record Check.
- Medical clearance to verify that you are safely able to undertake the duties of the position.
