Salary: $117,098.39 to $128,309.92 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation

About the Role:
With all this growth, we have an exciting career opportunity for two experienced Senior Solicitors who want to take their careers to the next level through exposure to high-quality legal work in a local government context.
We are looking for lawyers who are keen to support delivery of Council infrastructure projects, including by preparing contracts and advising on procurement and related property matters.
In this role, you will be preparing and reviewing tender documents and contracts and providing advice on local government procurement processes including probity as well as advising on, drafting, negotiating and enforcing commercial and property contracts and associated documents.
You will also advise Council and staff on a broad range of legal issues which may extend to ICT projects, general procurement, WH&S, intellectual property, grants and funding, community initiatives and programs, media and communications, events, policies and procedures, planning agreements, property, and leasing.

About You:
The successful applicant will have:
- Been admitted to practice law as a solicitor or barrister in New South Wales.
- A current legal practising certificate, or the ability to immediately obtain one.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Minimum 5 years’ experience or demonstrated substantial practical experience in
o Government, Regulatory and Administrative
o Commercial and Contracts
- Demonstrated high level competency and computer literacy skills including the use of software applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Zoom, NitroPro and Adobe.
- Strong ability to advise and communicate on complex legal issues.
- Excellent and persuasive interpersonal communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to draft legal documents.
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Strong ability to liaise with third parties including statutory authorities, other solicitors, Courts, residents, and private entities.
- Demonstrated appreciation of the complexity of local government, in particular the social, political, and legal frameworks within which it operates
