Senior Town Planner
Full-time - Ongoing

Position Number: 4506 & 4528                    Location: Queanbeyan

The Package: $92,645.28 - $102,375.52 gross per annum + 11.5% super. (Evaluated as Grade 14 of the QPRC Salary System 2024) and a guaranteed increase of 3% in 2025-26, plus potential performance-based progression.

Fulltime– 35 hours per week. Flexible work arrangements may apply.

In this role you will:

  • Assess complex development applications, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and Council policies.
  • Mentor team members, fostering their understanding of statutory obligations and reinforcing team values.
  • Manage and negotiate complex planning issues to reach suitable outcomes.
  • Prepare documents regional planning panel matters.
  • Facilitate input from diverse stakeholders.

 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a tertiary qualification in Town Planning or equivalent.
  • Has experience in assessing Development Applications and knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Possesses excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrates strong conflict resolution techniques and a goal-oriented approach to their work.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
