About the Role
As the Senior Transport Planner known internally as the Senior Coordinator City Transport, you will lead a team to deliver well-evidenced and collaboratively developed transport strategies and policy via a project led approach that will shape the future of the City of Ryde. Your work involves engaging with a variety of stakeholders including businesses, industry, government, community and internals to maximise transport and access outcomes.
This position supports the Executive Officer City Transport in linking transport planning with land use and infrastructure planning, and social/sustainability impact perspectives to Council's strategic thinking and plans.
About You
We’re looking for a strategic collaborator with a future-forward mindset who can apply the technical aspects of transport planning including complex data analysis and sense-making, combined with the ability to lead projects and influence change to deliver community-focused outcomes. You bring to this role experience in designing and delivering innovative and contemporary transport polices, plans and strategies in a dynamic and complex environment.
In addition, you will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in in an associated area such as transport planning, infrastructure planning, urban and regional planning, transport engineering, urban design, or geography;
- The ability to develop and implement a vision for the proactive and positive development of a transport network that is modern in its approach, sustainable, and equitable;
- Proven ability to effectively engage, advocate for and influence outcomes related to transport services, infrastructure and accessibility;
- Experience leading strategic business planning in a manner that demonstrates strong financial and budgetary acumen;
- Strong writing skills and experience in communicating technical and strategic content for a variety of audiences that is clear and concise;
- Knowledge of transport planning strategies and policies, emerging access trends, placemaking principles and approaches;
- Ability to lead and support the development of a high-performing team; and
- Sound knowledge and ability to apply forward-thinking transport planning models and methodologies in a range of scenarios.
Your commencing annual salary will range from $115,560.36 to $150,228.47+ Superannuation, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
