About the opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced, energetic and highly motivated professional to work as part of our Digital Services team as a Service Desk Officer on a permanent, full-time basis.

This role is responsible for providing service desk functions supporting Councillors and staff. Providing essential support for Council's digital environment to ensure that they can work with maximum efficiency.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Certificate IV in Information Technology or a related field
  • Solid experience in an Information Technology support role
  • Experience providing end user support for enterprise technologies including networking, applications and infrastructure
  • Experience supporting Windows 10 end user environments, audio visual equipment and meeting resources
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Current class C driver's licence.

Desirable:

  • Microsoft Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert qualified
  • Experience with a multi-site enterprise networking environment including switches, routers and wireless technologies
  • ITIL v3 or V4 Foundation certification
  • Sound knowledge of Active Directory, SCCM, Office 365 and Technology One.
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Availability to work flexible working hours..

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,510.58 per week
  • 35-hour working week 
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
