About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who has a lived experience with a disability to join our Social and Cultural Planning team as a part-time Project Officer (16 hours per week).

The Social and Cultural Planning team works on projects related to the City of Ryde’s social and cultural strategies. This is a fantastic developmental opportunity to share and expand your skills in project related tasks including:

  • Assisting the team with project and administrative tasks such as providing project support and digital filing of documents into an online database
  • Contributing to content creation
  • Participating in meetings with internal and external stakeholders including events administered or attended by the Social and Cultural Planning team
  • Contributing to team discussions to help shape the development and implementation of projects, and
  • Other tasks as required to support the team.

 

You will receive on the job training and support to progress continued learning and development and mentoring support by the Social and Cultural Planning team.

The role is required to work 16 hours per week – preferred working hours and working days can be negotiated with the successful candidate.

 

About You

We are seeking someone with a unique perspective that is willing to share their knowledge to foster a more inclusive local community at City of Ryde. You will have an interest in social and cultural projects and be able to use your knowledge to improve the wellbeing of people with disabilities within the City of Ryde.

Key requirements include:

  • Lived experience with a disability
  • Minimum Year 10 School Certificate or completed School Leavers Employment Support Program
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interest in working on social and cultural planning projects and improving social inclusion, community connection and wellbeing, particularly wellbeing of people with disability living in the City of Ryde
  • A keen listener who is able to follow instructions
  • Being enthusiastic and keen to learn
  • Managing time whilst being organised
  • Being collaborative and work with others to achieve common goals, and engenders teamwork, and
  • Approaching our work with empathy.

 

Your commencing annual salary will range from $24,912.82 to $32,386.67 annum + Superannuation, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
