We deliver 29 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 370,000 residents.
The role
CBCity has an opportunity for a dedicated and driven person with experience in open space maintenance to join the team as a Spray Operator. You will complete daily operational tasks including weed control, litter collection, removal of dumped rubbish and dead animals, and other cleaning duties as required.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Operate and maintain plant and equipment including brush cutters, blowers and other related plant as required.
- Assist in the control of weeds throughout Council’s LGA.
- Collect litter and clean sites as required which may contain offensive, filthy and obnoxious material.
- Assist the Coordinator and Team Leader to ensure open space areas are maintained in accordance with service requirements, service agreements and rosters.
- Complete risk and hazard assessments of all areas under the position holder's control and where necessary take corrective action.
- Undertake emergency response requests as required.

You will have:
- Current C Class drivers’ licence.
- Previous experience in cleansing and open space maintenance.
- Chemical Users Accreditation Certificate or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
- Class HR/MR licence and traffic control tickets are desirable but not essential.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $57,050 (Grade A, Step 1) + AWCA2 + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
