Title: Stormwater Project Engineer, Permanent - Full-time Role, 35 hours per week

Salary Range: $108,222.23 to $125,771.99 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience) + 3.5% CLA

The Environment & Resilience Unit prepares and plans for complex environmental, sustainability and engineering programs and projects to achieve quality outcomes for the residents and environment of the Northern Beaches. The Stormwater Engineering Group within Environment & Resilience Business Unit provides both strategic and operational management for the Council's stormwater assets and delivers a large amount of capital works. The Stormwater Engineering Group is dedicated to the operational asset management of stormwater assets, ensuring they function efficiently and sustainably, playing a vital role in maintaining and improving urban infrastructure, which helps protect the environment and benefits the community. Additionally, we deliver capital works projects in accordance with our asset management plan, aiming to improve and expand our stormwater systems.

 

You will be working within the Stormwater Design and Delivery service of the team. Some projects that the SDD team is currently working on include the South Collaroy foreshore renewal, North Harbour catchment study, multiple drainage improvements across the LGA, and water quality Improvements  at several locations, including Dee Why Beach and Brookvale Creek.

Our opportunity:
The key focus areas of this role include: 
1) Project Management

Implement project management principles to initiate, monitor, control, and close projects, including WHS, risk assessment, financial reporting and communications planning, ensuring timely and effective delivery.

 

2) Design

Develop design briefs, oversee design consultants, and evaluate hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality models to guide stormwater drainage designs, ensuring they adhere to Council policies, Australian standards, and best practices.

 

3) Delivery

Coordinate the delivery of capital works to meet timelines and budgets, including risk management, scoping, contractor management, overseeing construction works, and coordinating stakeholder and community engagement.

We’re looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Stormwater team. You’ll bring your knowledge and expertise about delivering complex drainage design and stormwater capital works to a team passionate about making a difference to our community.
