About the Team 

As part of our dedicated and high performing Environment & Planning Directorate, the Development and Building team are responsible for the delivery of Building Code of Australia requirements and Building certification, Development Assessment and Pre-lodgment and specialist advice. The department facilitates quality, compliant, sustainable development across the LGA ranging from established urban areas, through to urban renewal activity centres, future growth areas and environmental sensitive significant areas.

About the Opportunity and what we can offer you 

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Student Development Assessment Planner to join our dynamic and innovative Development and Building team. Together with our Development and Building team, the successful candidates will assist to ensure that development occurs in a way that is consistent with the objectives of the Georges River Council Management Plan, Council’s planning instruments, codes and policies. 

  • Temporary, 12-month contract, Full-time role, open to part-time hours.
  • Salary is from $60,079.84 - $69,609.92 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation

Qualifications, Certificates & Licences

  • Currently enrolled in relevant tertiary study, working towards qualification (Town Planning or similar).
  • Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.

Essential

  • Intermediate knowledge and experience in the use of MS Office platforms including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the legislation, codes and standards relating to Development Assessment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as positively contributing to a team.
  • Sound expertise in Microsoft Office applications.
