About the roles

In this position you will be a part of the team responsible for the preparation of planning strategies, master plans, planning proposals, amendments to development control plans, contribution plans and other land use planning policies.

 

This will provide you with an opportunity to contribute to a range of strategic planning projects, gain invaluable experience as part of a professional planning team and develop an excellent understanding of the day-to-day operations of Council. As part of a larger interdisciplinary team, you will contribute and assist with collaborating on the following current Council projects and other future projects as required.

 

We have two student strategic planning positions available, both part time 21 hours/3 days per week. These are temporary positions offered whilst you are undertaking your tertiary studies.

 

Your commencing annual salary will range from $41,038.52 to $53,350.18 + Superannuation pro-rata to reflect your actual hours of work.

 

 

About you

  • Be undertaking undergraduate or postgraduate studies in Urban or Town Planning or similar and have completed the equivalent of at least one full year of study
  • Be able to work 21 hours per week
  • Have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Possess strong customer service focus and have a problem solving approach to planning issues
  • Strong PC skills with proven experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn new skills and participate in business improvement initiatives
