You will supervise external contractors to ensure delivery of high quality and cost effective contract maintenance services received that meet the City’s standards as well as providing operational leadership and strategic direction through expert contract management and horticultural experience and knowledge

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

  1. Advanced knowledge of and experience in tender and contract documentation and procedures, including:
    • Tender and Specification preparation
    • Tender assessments and Contract execution
    • Contract performance management and auditing for quality, compliance and defects.
    • Contract administration, record keeping and close
  2. Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience of amenity horticulture and public open space management, including:
    • Planning and implementation of cyclical maintenance schedules
    • Commercial irrigation system operation and management oversight of programming
    • Project management of relevant disciplines including, horticulture, irrigation, hardscape construction and maintenance
  3. Well-developed interpersonal and supervisory skills, including:
    • Facilitation, consultation and negotiation to achieve desired outcomes
    • Written and verbal communication
    • Time management and organisational skills
    • Human resource management inclusive of performance management
  4. Well-developed knowledge of WHS legislation, policies and practices and experience in supervising activities to ensure WHS compliance and best practice
  5. Diploma in relevant discipline (e.g. Horticulture, Business Administration or Contract/Project management), or significant experience deemed equivalent
  6. Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence
  7. Construction Induction Training (White Card)

We are offering a gross salary of $95,325 per annum (dependent on skills and experience), and:

  • 11.5% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
