ADD VALUE - THE ROLE
The Supervisor Waste Management Facility is responsible for the supervision of the waste and circular economy staff working across the processes of weighbridge operations, landfill operations, recycling shop and community recycling centre at the Singleton Waste Management Facility.
Key responsibilities include;
- Supervise all day-to-day landfill disposals and recycling operation activities
- Ensure WHS program and requirements for landfill and recycling are implemented, monitored and reviewed
- Conduct operations in accordance with the EPL, Master Plan and plans of management
- Prepare rosters and works programs, conduct fortnightly one on ones and complete all quarterly and annual reviews of personnel performance
- Demonstrate competency in the operation of dynamic load shifting plant and equipment including, but not limited to, Dozer, Compactor, Excavator, loader and Tractor
- Liaise, communicate and build relationships with customers, key stakeholders and colleagues to achieve successful outcomes
- Ensure the building, levelling and excavation of land surfaces and waste cells is as per landfill filling plan
- Oversee the operation of all equipment used in earthmoving and alternate cover systems used for dust and litter control and operations at the waste disposal depot
- Read and implement construction plans and drawings
- Supervise, support and coordinate employees, and labor hire staff engaged in waste and recycling activities
Essential to this role is previous experience supervising operational staff as well as certificate/diploma level qualifications in civil engineering/construction complemented by civil construction experience preferably in in a Landfill/Waste Recycling and Disposal Facility.
This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working a 76 hours per fortnight across an 8-day fortnight. This roster includes one weekend per fortnight.
Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 10 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $3658 - $4103 per fortnight inclusive of weekend penalty rates and Adverse Working Conditions allowance, plus 11.5% superannuation. This role is eligible for 5 weeks annual leave per year.
