About the opportunity

We are looking for a suitably experienced and highly motivated individual to join our Community Law Enforcement and Waste team on a permanent, full-time basis in this exciting period of growth in Blacktown City Council.

This role will be responsible for providing administrative functions for the section, attending to enquiries and requests from our customers and providing them with timely advice. Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task is a must for this role. 

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in a related field
  • Suitable experience and/or qualifications in a related field
  • High-level oral and written communication skills including sound negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality and professionalism
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service 
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work productively and collaboratively within a fast paced multidisciplinary environment
  • Class c drivers licence.

Desirable

  • Experience using corporate databases (e.g. TRIM, Tech1, SCOUT)
  • Experience in basic financial management
  • Experience in website content management
  • Proven competency in minute taking
  • Proven excellent time management and organisation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet diverse business priorities and work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a busy and ever-changing workload. 

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,316.09 per week
  • 35-hour working week 
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
