- Salary $106,323.88 to $123,335.16 p/a + super
- Permanent full time position – 35 hours per week

About Ku-ring-gai Council
Located 16 km’s north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales’ most attractive natural environments.
Reporting to the Manager Governance & Corporate Strategy your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate and oversee the effective and efficient functions and services of the Governance Team
- Oversee Council’s information access process in accordance with the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act)
- Provide high-level secretariat support to Council, the Audit, Risk and Improvement (ARIC) and other council committees
- Provide expert advice, guidance and training on governance, privacy and information access matters
- Develop and maintain an effective governance framework, policies and delegations to ensure compliance with NSW legislation
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Business Law, Governance or related discipline
- High level understanding of the following legislation:
- Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act)
- Government Information (Public Access) Regulation 2018
- Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PIPP Act)
- Local Government Act 1993
- Experience in processing formal GIPA applications
- Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures in accordance with legislative requirements
- Leadership experience with the ability to coordinate a small operational team
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in the use of personal computer applications, in particular the Microsoft suite of products (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint)
Being able to successfully manage competing priorities and high volumes of work effectively within tight timeframes is a key requirement of this position, as is the ability to work with discretion and complete confidentiality.
