ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Council’s Assets, Capital and Facilities unit sits within the City Services directorate and focuses on the management of the Cumberland LGA. Cumberland City Council owns and operates four (4) Aquatic Centres and two (2) Fitness facilities across the LGA which provide aquatic, leisure and wellness services to our community.

n contributing to the overarching vision, the Team Leader – Leisure and Wellness contributes to the health and wellbeing of the Cumberland Council community by way of the provision and delivery of leisure and wellness services through the day-to-day operation and management of gyms, health, wellness and fitness programs and room booking services.

The successful applicant will require:

  • Certificate III and IV in Fitness or equivalent
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Sound office administration and computer literacy skills
  • High level of interpersonal and customer services/sales skills, exceptional organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Hands on experience in developing and coordinating fitness programs, wellness services, campaigns and promotions

About this role: 

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • 70 hour fortnight
  • Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement
  • Located at Council's Granville Swim Centre and Eric Tweedale Stadium, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 9 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,460.14 to $1,679.17 per week, plus 11.5% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
