About the role

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader for our Wastewater Services Team. You will lead a team responsible for operating and maintaining the City's wastewater, recycled water and trade waste systems. Your leadership will ensure we follow regulations and adopt best practices in wastewater management.

Key areas of responsibility Include:

  • Managing wastewater services and ensuring we meet environmental protection licenses and legal requirements.
  • Overseeing the trade waste program, including applications and approvals.
  • Leading maintenance programs for wastewater assets and improving our management systems.
  • Handling contract management, including preparing and awarding contracts.
  • Helping to manage operational and capital budgets.
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams and external organisations, ensuring clear communication.

  • Competitive salary starting at $115,497.24 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation. We recognise expertise, experience and skills and there will be an opportunity for salary discussions based on your experience and qualifications commensurate to the position.
  • Valuable allowances, such as a 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance on top of your base salary and on-call allowances when applicable.
  • Embrace a permanent, full-time position with a commitment of 35 hours per week.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Equivalent qualifications acceptable for Professional Membership
  • Significant relevant leadership experience in a similar-sized team
  • Demonstrated experience in the operation, maintenance, and management of wastewater reticulation systems.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
  • National Construction Industry Induction Certificate (White card)
