The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Councils in NSW with the most culturally, socially and economically diverse communities in Sydney. We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents. 

 

 

The Role

 

Create, organise, and promote a variety of programs and events to address the informational and recreational needs of the community.

This Permanent Part Time opportunity based within our Greenacre branch. Uniform will be provided. 

Part Time hours
Monday 9-1pm, Wednesday 9-1pm, Thursday 4-8pm 

Duties will include but not be limited to:

 

  • Provide high quality customer focussed and professional service, and help maintain a positive Library environment.
  • Assist and deliver the library programs and activities and promote library services and resources to the community.
  • Support the team in managing day-to-day library operations in all library service delivery
  • Liaise with relevant teams in the provision of information service to customers.
  • Assist with the maintenance of library collections to ensure the collections are relevant to community needs.
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of the team’s business plan.

You will have

  • Eligible for membership of Australian Library and Information Association or qualifications or experience relevant to the duties stated.
  • Working with Children Check
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to delivering quality customer service in a cross-cultural customer service environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with members of the public business unit customers, team members and partners.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Demonstrated ability in negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

 

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $ 69,728 (Grade D, Step1) pro rata + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
