Narromine Shire Council covers an area of 5264 km2 and has a population of approximately 6444 in the rural townships of Narromine, Trangie & Tomingley and the surrounding rural areas. Narromine is located 40km from the regional city of Dubbo.

About the position
Narromine Shire Council are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced applicant for the position of Team Member Recreational Services - Streetsweeper Operator.
The Team Member Recreational Services - Streetsweeper Operator is accountable to the Supervisor Recreational Services for the safe and effective operation and maintenance of the Streetsweeper in the Narromine Shire.
The position requires the occupant to plan, prioritise and coordinate their own work or work as directed. The activities will include maintenance and cleaning of the streets and gutters as required and will also assist with other duties as directed. The position requires a commitment to ongoing training and rotation within the Recreational Services area to develop and maintain the required skills and competencies of the position.
To be successful in this position you will need to have:
- General Construction Induction (White) Card
- Class ‘MR’ Drivers Licence.
- Demonstrated ability to operate “heavy” vehicles such as the streetsweeper
- An understanding of the basic mechanical principles and the ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on plant
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and procedures and accurately complete maintenance records and other routine forms
It will be desirable for you to have:
- Demonstrated Experience operating Council road sweepers
- Previous experience in Local Government
- RTA Traffic Controller “Blue Card”
- RTA Apply Traffic Control Plans “Yellow Card”
- First Aid Certificate
The details relating to this position are:
- The position is graded 6 within Council's salary structure
- The salary range is from $58,713 - $66,314 per annum plus superannuation. The salary step is determined by an annual competency assessment.
- 38 hour working week applies. NSC has a RDO system whereby every second Monday is a rostered day off.
- Employment conditions are as per the Local Government (State) Award
