About the Opportunity

The Technical Services Officer supports the effective delivery of operational programs in alignment with legislative requirements and Murray River Council policies. This role focuses on technical services, including traffic guidance schemes, handling customer enquiries, driveway / crossover inspections and approvals, streetlight requests, hazard reduction requirements and other relevant activities.

Location

We have two positions available; one located in Barham (West) and one located in Mathoura (East)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enact inspections related to drainage and road infrastructure.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders on road infrastructure matters.
  • Assess and approve permits for works within road reserves.
  • Prepare Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) and assist with Vehicle Movement Plans (VMP).
  • Coordinate streetlight requests and collaborate with Essential Energy.
  • Support hazard reduction activities and administrative duties as required.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and emergency response efforts.

What you need to be successful:

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction.
  • Current Driver’s License.
  • Working with Children’s Check NSW, National Police Check, Pre-employment Medical.
  • OHS Construction Induction Card, WHS White Card, First Aid Certificate.
  • National Police Check.
  • Pre-employment Medical.
