Description

Join our team as a Fitting and Welding Tradesperson, providing expert metal fabrication and welding services for Council's infrastructure, including water assets, playgrounds, and public buildings. This hands-on role requires technical expertise in manufacturing, repair, and interpretation of complex design drawings, ensuring safe and efficient operations. You’ll work collaboratively with other departments, train apprentices, and contribute to a sustainable work environment. A thorough knowledge of AS1554 and AS4839 standards is essential.

We are seeking:

  • trade qualification in Engineering Metal Fabrication or Boilermaker Welder Certificate III, or similar accredited qualification
  • experience working in a fitting, machining, metal fabrication and repair workshop
  • knowledge of the Fitting and Welding Standards associated with maintenance of drainage, heavy and light fleet, parks, sewer, water assets, building and roadside furnishings
  • the ability to work in an effective and efficient, safe and environmentally friendly way at all Council worksites

This position is based in Murwillumbah, and can be directed to work from any Council work site.

  • Do you hold a trade qualification in Engineering Metal Fabrication or Boiler Maker Welder Certificate 3, or similar accredited qualification?
