The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a driven individual to undertake a tertiary qualification in town planning and learn a variety of strategic planning and environmental planning functions and activities by participating as a team member in the Planning Services Section.

As a Cadet Town Planner, you will gain an understanding and experience in the assessment of development applications in a manner consistent with relevant policies and procedures, legislation, regulations and standards as well as provide input into and report on the development and implementation of local plans and development proposals to assist in achieving timely outcomes. You will help develop and implement local planning strategies and policies to support day to day team operations.

About You

We are seeking an individual who is willing to enrol in University study in Urban and Regional Planning at a University in Australia and have a current NSW Class C drivers licence.

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Demonstrated broad interest in town planning
  • Good written and verbal communication skills including the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Analytical and investigative skills

Benefits

This is a grant funded, fixed term full time position working 35 hours per week for a period of six (6) years.

The total remuneration package for this position commences at $53,347.40 gross per annum, comprising of:

  • $920.10 per week base salary
  • $105.81 per week superannuation (calculated at 11.5%)
