Lead and drive the maintenance of trees across the beautiful Central Coast reserves, streetscapes and natural areas.
- Apply your sound Aboricultural knowledge and practices to maintain and protect the diverse Central Coast natural assets
- Supervise daily operations of the Crew across the coast
- Permanent Full-Time position with Work/ Life balance - 9 day fortnight
- Working across the Central Coast based in Long Jetty Depot
About the role
Using your Arboricultural skills, whilst working within current standards and practices, you will be overseeing the crew and assist in the day-to-day maintenance and removal of trees on reserves, streetscapes and natural areas in the Central Coast Council area. Working collaboratively with the team you will also be responsible for the efficient allocation of staff and resources to the jobs as well as lead and manage the development and improvement of WHS and risk management initiatives.
You will be an honest, ethical, professional candidate who can lead by example and be responsive to the input of others and open to new ideas.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- AQF3 Certificate in Arboriculture or equivalent
- WHS Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
- Chainsaw Certification - Trim & Cross Cut Felled Trees or equivalent
- Chainsaw Certification - Fall Trees manually basic/intermediate or equivalent
- Medium Rigid (MR) Drivers Licence

Other important information
- The salary range for this position ranges between $63k to $76k (dependent on skills and experience) plus 11.5% superannuation plus $18.92 per week Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance.
- We have permanent full-time role available.
- This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
- Tool of Trade vehicle provided with home overnight garaging
- This role is located at the Long Jetty Depot
- Successful candidates will be required to be vaccinated for tetanus.
Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
