About the role

This position is a permanent full time role in the Technical Services team, based at the Moruya Administration Office. The successful candidate will co-ordinate traffic related activities for Council including the enhancement of sustainable transport options for our community.

 

Your main duties will include:

  • Overseeing the activities of the Local Traffic Committee including preparation of reports to Council.
  • Investigating and reporting on issues submitted to the Local Traffic Committee.
  • Providing technical expertise into the development of forward works programs for traffic facilities.
  • Developing, monitoring and maintaining traffic models for specific areas such as CBDs and other precincts.
  • Overseeing the development, monitoring and review of Pedestrian Access Mobility Plans (PAMPS) and parking plans for all major traffic precincts on a priority basis.
  • Implement priority actions within Council’s Road Safety Plan and oversee the activities of Council’s Road Safety Officer

About you

You will be a highly skilled and forward-thinking individual to ensure Eurobodalla continues to have well-planned, safe and effective roads, drainage and other public infrastructure for the local community. You will have a can-do attitude and demonstrate the following:

  • Experience and practical understanding of road design and traffic management principles, guidelines and standards.
  • Diploma in Civil Construction, equivalent or related tertiary qualification combined with demonstrated experience in a relevant field.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Roads Act 1993 and the Road Transport Act 2013 and associated regulations.
  • Ability, initiative, aptitude and preparedness to develop skills in traffic management to a high level.
  • High level written and oral communication skills.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $91,853.58 to $112,293.96 gross per annum consisting of:

  • $82,379.89 to $100,712.07 base salary
  • $9,473.69 to $11,581.89 superannuation (at 11.5%)

 

A fully maintained Council leaseback vehicle (including full private usage) is available with this position.
