  • Central Picton location
  • Permanent Full-Time, 35 hours per week with work-life balance through access to Flex-time and Hybrid Working arrangements
  • Salary commencing from $111,158 pa + 11.5% Superannuation
  • Option of a Council leaseback vehicle

About the Role

We currently have a unique opportunity for a Traffic Engineer to join our Infrastructure Operations team. Reporting to the Team Leader Infrastructure Operations, you will provide leadership and specialised knowledge across the areas of traffic engineering and design, to enhance Council's service provision to the community.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • Degree qualification relevant to the position and/or extensive relevant experience in Traffic Engineering (minimum of 5 years’ experience) and a Valid Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex traffic and transport related problems, negotiate viable options with stakeholders and implement preferred solutions
  • Proven ability to prepare technically concise reports, letters and e-mails on various operational traffic issues
  • Understanding of Local Government legislation, the NSW Roads Act 1993 and the Australian Road Rules
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both in written and oral contexts
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively and fairly with internal and external customers
