Are you in the penultimate or final year of completing your Bachelor of Civil Engineering? Do you have an interest to kick start your career at Council? Council is planning to participate in the Government’s A fresh Start for Local Government Apprentices, Trainees and Cadets Program. We seek candidates who have an interest in gaining hands on experience within our Subdivision & Development Certification team During this cadet program, you will mentored by some of our highly qualified Engineers and assist with the assessment and inspection of minor civil works in accordance with legislative requirements and community expectations.

The cadet program provides the opportunity to:
•    Undertake the review and provide technical engineering advice regarding Development Applications for all types of development including preparing reports, requests for information and engineering conditions of consent.
•    Manage, assess and prepare reports for post consent approvals including but not limited to subdivision works certificates, subdivision certificates, s138/68 approvals, compliance certificates and preparation of final plans and instruments related to the registration of subdivisions.
•    Carry out critical stage inspections relating to construction work (including driveways)
•    Resolve customer phone and online enquiries
•    Assist with inspections of public infrastructure and other post-consent matters.
•    Manage bond releases for developments
•    Attend and contribute to pre-lodgement and Conciliation Conference meetings and produce notes for distribution to Attendees.

What we are seeking in applicants:
1.    Must have full Australian working rights to be considered for this position
2.    Committed to complete a full time 2 year cadet program, whilst completing your penultimate year of their Bachelor of Civil Engineering qualification
3.    Drivers Licence (Class C) - NSW
4.    White Card - General Construction Induction
