Cabonne Council has several opportunities to undertake a qualification and get experience in Council operations offering a number of traineeships and apprenticeships.


Safety, People and Culture Officer

This traineeship is over two years. You will complete a certificate 4 in human resource management during this time, working in the safety people and culture department within a small team of four, based in our Molong office. This position will work a 35-hour week with a 9-day fortnight.

Qualifications:

Desirable:

  • Completion of Year 11 or 12.

  • Class C driver’s licence (or Provisional Licence).


Town Presentation Apprentice

This Apprenticeship is over three years. You will complete a certificate 3 in parks and gardens during this time, working within the town presentation team based in Molong. This position will work a 38-hour week with a 9-day fortnight.

Water and Wastewater Trainee

This traineeship is over two years. You will complete a certificate 3 in water industry operations during this time, working within the water utilities team based in Molong. This position will work a 38-hour week with a 9-day fortnight.

Qualifications:

Desirable:

  • Completion of Year 10 or higher.

  • Construction Induction Certification (White Card).

  • Class C driver’s licence (or Provisional Licence).

These roles are full-time temporary positions.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must be able to complete basic maths, logic and English skills tests.
  • An interest in, and ability and aptitude for manual landscaping and horticulture activities.
  • Ability to set priorities and organise work.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Able to take direction and implement feedback on performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn.
