About the role

Based within our Open Space and Trees department, as the Trees Asset Officer, you will be responsible for surveying and maintaining an inventory of Council’s tree assets to identify potentially hazardous defects and coordinate necessary maintenance works. Located at our Paddington Depot you will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive and accurate records of inspections within Council's tree asset software and will liase directly with the community in the assessment and completion of CRM's

About you

You will have a great work ethic and be self-motivated, with strong attention to detail and a professional attitude.

Your proven ability to successfully meet project targets, as well as your top-notch communication and report-writing skills will ensure your success in this pivotal role.

Essential Criteria

  • Completed a Diploma Arboriculture (or completing) or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing tree health/condition and assessing trees for hazards
  • Demonstrated experience in specifying tree related work, tree valuations, and a strong familiarity with tree asset management
  • Demonstrated experience in the use and maintenance of asset databases and software
  • Demonstrated competency in the use of computer software packages including Word, Excel, Access and email software
  • Demonstrated report writing and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service and communicating with the public.
  • Proven performance and ability to achieve objectives and successfully meet project targets
  • Capable of working within the physical requirements (in Section E)
  • Class C Driver’s License
  • WorkCover Construction Induction Card (White Card)

Desirable Criteria

  • ISA TRAQ Qualification or QTRA
  • Demonstrated experience in an arboricultural operational environment
  • Prior experience working in Local Government or similar
