Description

Applications are invited for the position of Truck Driver/Ganger, based at Council's Inverell Works Centre. The successful applicant shall be a Council in-field working supervisor, responsible for the execution of general maintenance duties and operation of a truck and earthmoving equipment.

Essential Criteria:

Qualifications

  • NSW School Certificate or equivalent;
  • Satisfactory formal training in truck operation OR suitable experience in truck operation;
  • Successful completion of an approved course for supervisors OR suitable experience;
  • NSW Class MR Drivers Licence;
  • National WHS Certification Standard and/or Statement of Attainment for Front End Loader of the Skid Steer Type (LS);
  • National WHS Certification Standard and/or Statement of Attainment for Excavator (LE);
  • National WHS Certification Standard and/or Statement of Attainment for Front End Loader/Backhoe (LB);
  • Traffic Control Certificate;
  • Implement Traffic Control plans Certificate (IMP);
  • Crane and Plant Electrical Safety Certificate; and
  • SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card ('White Card').

Skills and Experience

  • Satisfactory experience in undertaking maintenance duties..

Desirable Criteria:

Qualifications

  • NSW High Risk Work Licence for Dogging (DG);
  • NSW High Risk Work Licence for Elevated Work Platform (WP);
  • Statement of Attainment in Chainsaw Operations;
  • Satisfactory formal training in chemical application;
  • Enter and Work in Confined Spaces Certificate; and 
  • Senior First Aid Certificate.

Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.  The classification for the position will be up to Operational Band 1, Level 4, Grade 7.  Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $1,155.40 to $1,244.20 gross per week.  In addition, a Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $0.498 per hour will be paid where applicable.
