Due to continued growth in our Waste Services division, we are excited to add a Waste Facility Environment Officer to our highly skilled team to continue to make a true and meaningful impact on our community.

About the Role

As Waste Facility Environment Officer, you are responsible for the environmental management of Councils waste facility and ensuring it achieves all environmental compliance requirements for the site.

The role is responsible for the development, implementation and management of environmental studies and plans such as the Landfill Environmental Management Plan and Pollution Response Incident Management Plan. You will coordinate the monitoring program, environmental inspections and environmental reporting for the site, as well as provide expert advice and assistance on environmental management in relation to any site construction, investigations and adoption of new practices and procedures.

Additionally, you will develop strong relationships with site employees, Team Leaders and Coordinators, providing training and guidance on environmental management requirements across the site.

About You

To be successful in this role you will possess degree qualifications in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education/training and contemporary experience in a similar role.

You will have demonstrated experience in the environmental management and operations of a waste management facility, with a focus on developing and implementing environmental and operational plans. You will also have proven experience in the environmental monitoring and analysis of surface water, groundwater, leachate, gas, noise and/or odour.

As well as a strong understanding of waste and environmental management legislation, policies and programs, you will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise and interact effectively across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Benefits

This is a permanent full-time role working 35 hours per week with a base salary ranging from $95,235 - $105,678 per year) based on demonstrated competencies + 11.5% p.a superannuation.
